American Shuffleboard Finally in the Netherlands!
American Shuffleboard is not yet very well known in the Netherlands, but the game is a huge success in many other countries. And that's not surprising, as shuffleboard is a simple, competitive, and challenging game.
What do you need to play shuffleboard?
First and foremost, you need a shuffleboard. The smallest shuffleboard in the Buffalo collection measures 9 ft (+/- 275 cm), and the largest measures 14 ft (+/- 427 cm). Shuffleboard is played with shuffleboard pucks, which are heavy discs with a diameter of 5.8 cm and a weight of +/- 370 grams. Each player uses 4 pucks. You will also need shuffleboard powder, also known as speed wax, which helps the pucks glide smoothly over the playing surface.
How do you play shuffleboard?
Unlike shuffleboard, which is played competitively against each other, in shuffleboard both players start from the same end of the shuffleboard and take turns sliding pucks until all pucks are played. The goal is to score as many points as possible by sliding the pucks into the numbered scoring areas. Only the points from pucks that are past the opponent's pucks count. You can also knock your opponent's puck off the playing surface, which can change the final score in an instant, exciting until the last moment!
